How often does the Apple refurbished store restock?
There is no fixed schedule. Apple adds refurbished units continuously, any day and any time, but weekdays see far more restocks than weekends based on patterns buyers have observed. The US store often updates after about 9 AM Pacific. Because the timing is not guaranteed, an automated alert is the only reliable way to catch a specific config.
Does the Apple refurbished store restock on weekends?
Rarely. Restocks happen overwhelmingly on weekdays, and weekend additions are uncommon. This is a tendency buyers have observed, not a schedule Apple publishes, so treat it as a pattern rather than a rule. If you are waiting on a specific config, an alert beats refreshing the page.
How fast do refurbished Macs sell out?
Scarce, high-memory configs can sell out within minutes of appearing. A 64GB Mac Studio or a maxed Mac mini goes fastest, while common, lower-memory builds linger longer. The higher the demand and the rarer the configuration, the shorter the window, which is why alert speed matters most for the configs people actually want.
How long after launch does a Mac show up refurbished?

What is Apple certified refurbished?
Apple certified refurbished products are returned or unsold units that Apple has inspected, repaired to original specifications, and certified for resale. They include a new outer shell and battery where applicable, new accessories, the same one-year warranty as new, and ship in Apple packaging. They are refurbished and backed by Apple itself.
Does Apple certified refurbished come with a warranty?
Yes. Apple certified refurbished products carry the same one-year limited warranty as new Apple products, plus Apple's standard return window. Every unit is tested and certified by Apple before resale, so the coverage and support match a new purchase rather than a third-party refurbisher's terms.
Is AppleCare available on Apple certified refurbished?
Yes. AppleCare+ is available on Apple certified refurbished products when you buy directly from Apple's refurbished store. You can add it at checkout or within the eligibility window, just like a new device. Third-party 'renewed' units bought elsewhere are not AppleCare+ eligible.
Can I use a student or education discount on Apple refurbished?
No. Apple's education pricing applies to new products only and does not apply to the refurbished store. Refurbished prices are already discounted, but you cannot stack the education discount on top. The two programs are separate, so for education pricing you would buy new from Apple's education store.
How is Apple certified refurbished different from 'renewed' or Back Market?
Apple certified refurbished is refurbished and warrantied by Apple itself, with a one-year Apple warranty and AppleCare+ eligibility. 'Renewed' or marketplace units (Back Market, Amazon Renewed) are refurbished by third parties with their own, usually shorter, warranties and no AppleCare+. The grading and support differ accordingly.
Are refurbished Macs from Apple worth it?
