iPhone and iPad setup
Install RefurbSitter for push alerts.
iOS and iPadOS only allow web push after the site is added to your Home Screen and opened from that app icon. Push requires iOS or iPadOS 16.4 or later. Email alerts still work in a normal browser; push needs the installed app mode.
- 1
Open RefurbSitter in Safari
If you are inside Gmail, Messages, Instagram, Chrome, or another in-app browser, copy the URL and open it in Safari first.
- 2
Tap the Share button
Use the square Share icon in Safari's toolbar, then scroll the share sheet if needed.
- 3
Choose Add to Home Screen
Tap Add in the top right. RefurbSitter will appear on your Home Screen like a lightweight app.
- 4
Open the Home Screen icon
Launch RefurbSitter from that icon, then use the push alert control on this page or on your dashboard. iOS should show the native notification permission sheet.
Enable after install
If you opened this page from the Home Screen icon, use this control to turn on push alerts. If you are still in Safari, add RefurbSitter to your Home Screen first.

If the prompt never appears
Confirm you opened RefurbSitter from the Home Screen icon, not a Safari tab. If you are on iOS or iPadOS older than 16.4, use email alerts instead. If you previously tapped Don't Allow, go to Settings, Notifications, RefurbSitter and turn notifications back on.
